PPC and PPC blue Romania have jointly secured new European funding through the “Connecting Europe Facility” (CEF) funding mechanism, for the installation and operation of fast charging  DC publicly accessible chargers.

Under the joint project “East Europe Electric Route” (Blue Route 3E), the installation and operation of a total of 28 fast charging points with a minimum output power of 150 kW each, as well as 32 fast charging points with a minimum output power of 350 kW each, are already underway.

The new ultra-fast chargers will be installed at 29 locations along the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) in Romania and Greece, creating and strengthening a reliable network of publicly accessible fast charging stations for both electric light-duty vehicles (LDVs) and electric heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs).

The BlueRoute 3E project aims to contribute to the decarbonisation of road transport and to meet the EU’s targets for climate neutrality and zero emissions  by 2050.

In the framework of the joint proposal between Greece & Romania part of the project  East Europe Electric Route” (Blue Route 3E  will be implemented by PPC blue in Greece and include the installation of 16 fast charging points for electric LDVs, each with a minimum output power of 150 kW, across 10 locations in Greece.

This is the second European funding that PPC blue has secured through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) mechanism, following the “Electrifying South East Europe Road Transport” (ESEERT) project, which is already at an advanced stage of implementation and involves 34 fast charging points for electric LDVs, across 13 locations in Greece.

The Chief E-Mobility Officer, Miltiades Babilis, stated that “through the collaborative project ‘East Europe Electric Route’, the infrastructure of the Trans-European Transport Network in Greece and Romania is being significantly strengthened. PPC blue is investing in the strategic development of its network by adding new hyperfast chargers at key points along the Greek road network, thus making electric vehicle travel more convenient. The PPC Group continues its seamless journey towards green mobility, fully aligned with European standards for a climate-neutral continent.”

PPC, committed to sustainable development and environmental protection, acknowledged its role in the penetration and growth of E-mobility in the country. PPC serves as the vehicle for PPC blue to offer integrated services, making e-mobility affordable and accessible to all through its network of chargers, with a total of over 2,800 charging points.
